Bricks & Minifigs (BAM™) started as a dream in 2003 when David Ortiz wanted to find a way to let people buy, sell, and trade LEGO® items while still having plenty of time to dedicate to their families. In 2009, he met John Masek—who had spent most of his life working in and running stores for some of the largest names in retail—as they both pursued the same large LEGO® collection.

It didn’t take long to see how David’s knowledge and John’s retail experience—alongside their mutual enthusiasm for LEGO® sets—could combine in a business venture that would end up reaping success for them and other franchise owners down the road. That was the beginning of the journey for BAM™

BAM™ began franchising in 2011, and by 2018, it had over 41 stores in operation. Currently, BAM™ has over 170 franchises in the US and Canada.

From used and retired sets to brand-new sets, BAM™ offers a wide, ever-changing selection of LEGO® products. You can join the BAM™ fam by buying, selling, or trading any LEGO­® bricks or minifigures. BAM™ offers birthday parties and other activities for everyone.

Meet the owners of Bricks & Minifigs Tucson NW! After 30 years as a plumber, Steven decided it was time for a change and sold their plumbing company. Steven & Suzanne’s love for LEGO® and the community they’ve lived & worked in for so long came together when they joined the Bricks & Minifig’s family. They’re most excited to work with homeschooling families, autistic communities, local schools, businesses, and of course, everyone who loves LEGO!

Bricks & Minifigs Tucson Northwest opened its doors on December 6th, 2025, to welcome builders just in time before the holidays. They are excited to turn their love of creativity and community into a place where builders of all ages can trade, shop, and get inspired. They’ve turned the store into a family business, and can’t wait to share it with you!

Meet Amy, one of the managers at Bricks and Minifigs! This is truly a family-owned and operated business, as she is the sister-in-law of the owners! She is excited to run some fun events, educational activities, and classes that families and schools will enjoy, as well as getting to talk to all the customers who come into the store. She has a background in retail and education and looks forward to having her kids learn the ropes of the store so they can join the family business!
