Our Story

What started as a hobby quickly became a dream.

During the pandemic in 2020, Cortney and her husband Ryan spent countless hours building LEGO® sets together at home. As their collection grew, they discovered the joy of buying, selling, and sharing LEGO bricks with other fans. When Cortney learned about Bricks & Minifigs, the concept immediately resonated with her. A store dedicated to creativity, community, and giving LEGO pieces a second life felt like the perfect fit.

In October 2024, Cortney made the bold decision to leave her corporate career and pursue her dream of owning a toy store. After extensive research, she found her home with Bricks & Minifigs, a franchise whose mission aligned perfectly with her vision: helping customers build their dreams, one brick at a time.

That dream became reality in September 2025 when Bricks & Minifigs Lee’s Summit officially opened its doors. As the area’s destination for LEGO fans of all ages, the store offers new and used LEGO sets, minifigures, bulk bricks, retired treasures, and unique building experiences for families, collectors, and enthusiasts alike.

The excitement continued with a Grand Opening celebration in November 2025, where guests enjoyed a store-wide scavenger hunt, photo opportunities with a giant inflatable minifigure, and plenty of LEGO fun. The event welcomed hundreds of visitors and showcased the incredible support of the Lee’s Summit community.
