Who We Are
Hello State College, we are Zachary and Jesse Barlow, the proud owners and operators of Bricks & Minifigs Happy Valley. We decided to open this store to further invest in and grow our wonderful community here in State College, PA.
Jesse Barlow moved to State College in 1981 to join the Computer Science Department at Penn State. He retired as Professor Emeritus of Computer Science and Engineering in 2023. He served on the State College Borough Council for eight years, including four years as Council President, and currently serves on the State College Area School Board of Directors.
Zachary Barlow was raised in State College, where he still lives today. He graduated from State High in 2012 and Penn State in 2017. Throughout those years, he worked at a local favorite Faccia Luna Pizzeria, moving up from busser to assistant front of house manager. A lifelong LEGO® enthusiast, Zachary’s passion for this venture started while looking for ways to grow his personal collection. Upon researching the franchise, he fell in love with the community-driven focus of Bricks & Minifigs and wanted to share that passion with his hometown.
Together, we want to create a space where everyone can share the excitement and joy of LEGO®. Whether you are rediscovering a childhood passion or experiencing the wonder of building for the first time, we welcome you with open arms and can’t wait to see what we can build together.
