About Bricks & Minifigs

We’re proud to be the first LEGO® resale franchise. Our customer base is extremely loyal and continues to grow as more LEGO® fans join the fandom each year. As long as passionate enthusiasts are excited to grow their collection and rave about their latest build, Bricks & Minifigs will continue to be an exciting franchise opportunity for industrious business owners.

Bricks & Minifigs started as a dream in 2003 when David Ortiz wanted to find a way to let people buy, sell, and trade LEGO® items while still having plenty of time to dedicate to their families. In 2009, he met John Masek—who had spent most of his life working in and running stores for some of the largest names in retail—as they both pursued the same large LEGO® collection.

It didn’t take long to see how David’s knowledge and John’s retail experience—alongside their mutual enthusiasm for LEGO® sets—could combine in a business venture that would end up reaping success for them and other franchise owners down the road.

The company began franchising in 2011, and by 2018, it had over 41 stores in operation. Currently, Bricks & Minifigs has over 130 franchises in the US and Canada.

Own More Than Just a Store—Own Your Success

If you’re a first-time franchise owner, it can be intimidating to take that step and go out on your own. You might wonder if you have what it takes to run a LEGO® resale franchise.

You may also be concerned about the initial financial investment. We hear you—it can seem like a lot of money upfront.
But you’re probably here because you want something more from life (and maybe because you’re a creative type who enjoys a well-crafted LEGO® build). If that’s the case, let us set your mind at ease.

We boast a low franchise startup cost. If you’re interested in owning a franchise, a little research will demonstrate that Bricks & Minifigs requires a relatively small upfront investment. And there’s a great deal of growth potential.

Your store is built on a proven business model. We’ve already proven that a LEGO® franchise opportunity can be extremely profitable. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a franchise with such a robust fan base.

You can pursue multiple income streams. Obviously, you’ll make money from new and used LEGO® sales. But you can also host special events like birthday parties for additional profit.

No experience is not a problem. No retail experience? Can’t tell a brick from a minifigure? We offer a thorough training program that teaches you everything you need to know to be successful. After all, when you win, we win too.

You will not be left alone. Our FranDev team is here to support you from the very beginning. You’ll have someone to answer your questions and give expert advice whenever needed.
