At 71 years of age, I am back at work and loving it, having retired a couple of times over the last 6 years. Over the years I have worked in many areas – the corporate world, the funeral profession, music and retail. LEGO® is certainly the most fun!
This is the perfect family business – by family for families. It’s wonderful to watch kids and adults alike enter the store and be overwhelmed by the color, the selection and the fun. And of course, to make retail decisions with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson and our friend Sean.
I love building, though I am one that needs instructions – no MOCs for me. Harry Potter is my favorite, though I am a fan of the modulars, Friends and Elves. My favorite build was the Friends Botanical Garden, which offered clever use of the LEGO botanicals, as well as frogs as flower centers and clear blue tiles as water, Great fun!

A lifelong LEGO® fan, I haven’t really met a LEGO® thing I don’t like. Enjoying both creating MOCS and the obsession of collecting just about everything LEGO® has to offer, my knowledge of sets, minifigs, and the LEGO® part catalogue is very well-rounded. Because of my fanaticism for the LEGO® product, I really enjoy helping customers with advice and concerns regarding LEGO® products, such as what might make a good gift, how to make a MOC, or how to best store/display products. If you have any questions, you’re in good hands!
Most Absurd Opinion: I prefer LEGO® stickers over prints in most cases.

I am so proud to be an employee of the Novi team. I am a proud father of two and very proud grandfather of one.
Every shift I work at the store I enjoy the smiling faces that come through the door and look forward to seeing what they enjoy picking out. What makes working here the most enjoyable is the people I get to work with and especially the owners I work for.
LEGO® is so much fun because it has endless possibilities. My favorite theme is Star Wars, but I love to hear what the guests are making at home on their own. Bottom line is this is a phenomenal hobby to be involved in.

I have been a LEGO® fan since my early childhood. I still have one of my original sets, Alpha-1 Rocket Base from 1979. My favorite themes include: Star Wars, classic space, pirates, Icons and Collectible Minifigs. I got to visit the Lego House in Denmark in 2024 and see Lego bricks being molded firsthand.
I am also a part-time Firefighter/EMT and have an event consulting business where I’ve worked on events such as the NFL Draft, NCAA® Final Four and the Super Bowl. I live in Northville with my wife Ameila and our dog Finnigan and cat Benny. When I’m not at the store or building LEGO®, I enjoy spending time on my boat or traveling.

Hi! I’m Connor McQuade, the youngest member of the Bricks & Minifigs Novi team. I’ve been here since opening day, and it’s been awesome to be part of such a fun and passionate group of people.
My favorite types of LEGO® sets are from the LEGO® Ideas and LEGO® Architecture themes-I love how creative and detailed they are. One of my top sets must be the LEGO® Milky Way Galaxy-it’s just such a cool build!
I really enjoy working at the store and helping others find the perfect set or piece for their collection. Whether you’re a lifelong builder or just getting started, I’m always happy to talk LEGO®!

I love to build MOCS of animals and pop culture themes. A large-scale Tiger, Gorilla, King Tut, and American Bald Eagle are among my signature pieces. My extensive collection of builds have uplifted and inspired thousands of people at various small art museums and several major shows such as Brick Bash Ann Arbor and Brickworld events in Chicago, Grand Rapids and Detroit.
I was a featured builder on an extended episode of the popular Beyond The Brick web program that reviewed my Brickworld Detroit display. I’m also a member of Therapeutic LEGO® Users Group and a Bricks & Minifigs Novi Founding Member.
“Made In Michigan”, is my build of the state of Michigan and is prominently on display at Bricks & Minifigs Novi. I consider that build and my position on the BAM Novi team to be my greatest LEGO® achievements.

My name is John Paul and I have been a big fan of LEGO® my whole life. Growing up, I’ve always loved building characters and scenes from video games and other pop culture, and making stop-motion animation films. My favorite LEGO® builds are Minecraft, Mario, and Marvel. I am a MichLUG member and love sharing my creations with others. In 2023, at Brickworld Chicago, my creation, Bowser’s Melody, was nominated for Best Teen Creation! Working at a LEGO® store has always been my dream job, and I am truly grateful to Bricks and Minifigs Novi for making my dream job come true!

Hi, I’m Luke! I’m currently back in school and feel lucky to work a job I genuinely love here at Bricks & Minifigs Novi. My favorite LEGO® themes are Star Wars and Bionicle, and I pride myself on my deep knowledge of minifigures from across all themes. I help keep our minifig selection diverse and accurate by sorting through parts and making sure everything’s in top shape. In my free time, I build Star Wars dioramas and custom figures in the spirit of Bionicle. I’m also a big movie fan, and I love how LEGO® serves as a tangible analog for franchises I can’t get enough of! I regularly attend conventions like Brickworld to connect with other fans and fully immerse myself in the LEGO® hobby.

Having not grown-up building LEGO®, my introduction to it was through my son’s eyes when he was little and building with my husband. The hours they enjoyed together made me so happy and I realized the influence of LEGO®.
I thought my husband was crazy when he mentioned opening a Bricks & Minifigs store and next think I knew we were on our way to Utah to the BAM corporate office. We are proud of the store we have built, incredibly grateful for our customers and excited to see where the journey takes us! We want to be your go-to local store for all things LEGO® and hope our guests always feel welcome and at-home. We’re one big BAM NOVI family!

I have been enjoying LEGO® since I was a kid building with my dad so it has been a dream come true to watch our chapter of Bricks & Minifigs come to life. It’s been a wild ride as our family has ventured into the retail world and I’ve learned a lot along the way. I enjoy all things Star Wars but also have a passion for Technic. I start my senior year of high school in the fall and plan to major in one of the areas of engineering. Outside of the store, I snowboard, play trumpet and guitar, and love to fish. I’m always “on call” if my mom or dad needs me at the store!

I handle the behind-the-scenes magic-optimizing inventory, crunching numbers, and strategizing ways to grow our LEGO® resale business. My journey here started years ago as a BrickLink seller. Whenever I listed rare minifigures, it was always a BAM store that would swoop in and buy my best inventory! That stuck with me.
The real “aha” moment came when my family stopped into BAM Grand Rapids and immediately fell in love with the concept—the nostalgia, the community, the thrill of the hunt for retired sets. As a CPA and accounting consultant, I saw the smart business behind the fun and as a lifelong LEGO® fan (raised on Castle sets, now obsessed with Technic builds and Star Wars nostalgia), I knew I had to be part of it.
These days, you’ll find me:
• Building with Jack (our favorite bonding activity)
• Scouting rare Technic sets (the engineer in me loves the challenge),
• Spotting Easter eggs in City sets (they’re everywhere!), and
• Applying my numbers skills to help our store thrive—so every customer leaves happier than a kid finding that one missing piece.
Stop by and say hello! I’m usually behind the scenes, but you might catch me geeking out over a vintage minifig… or finally taking home that UCS Millennium Falcon I’ve been “storing” in our display case.
