DECLARE YOUR ALLEGIANCE

Pick one of three factions for your theme: Brick Empire, Brick Rebellion, Bricks from the Outer Rim. Your faction determines where your build is displayed. All entries compete together for awards!

PICK YOUR FACTION AND SHOW YOUR COLORS

Imperial Brick Builders: Strike back with sharp angles, symmetry, clean lines, discipline, and imposing structures. Grey, black, and white are the dominant colors. Order and precision are your weapons.

Builders of the Rebellion: Restore hope with organic shapes and asymmetrical builds. Use weathered textures and warm, natural colors. Creativity and resourcefulness are your weapons.

Outer Rim Builders: In the Outer Rim there are no factions, no flags, and the only rule is survival. Your colors are what you have on hand to get the job done to survive. Imagination and determination are your weapons.

THE CHALLENGE

Using nothing but LEGO® and your imagination build a scene, character, vehicle, or environment that any fan of LEGO® Star Wars™ would instantly recognize. Your build can be from any era: Classic trilogy, animated or live action series, or go deep into the Expanded Universe.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Size: Builds must be fully contained within a 32 x 32 baseplate (10 inches x 10 inches) and should not exceed 18 inches height.
  • Strength: Your build must be strong enough that it can be moved or bumped without falling apart.
  • Each entry must be registered with the following information:
    • Your Name
    • Your Age
    • A title for your entry
    • A brief description (2 to 3 sentences) of your scene or build, especially if there are any hidden details, easter eggs, or play features the viewer and judgers should know about. Play features will only be handled by the creator or staff, and viewers will not be allowed to touch entries.

AGE CATEGORIES & BUILD CRITERIA

BUILD FOR YOUR AUDIENCE

Your creation will be displayed on a table where the audience will not be able to see all sides so make sure you keep that in mind while building your scene. Keep your build discoverable and accessible!

BRICK CADETS (12 & under)

Pick a favorite moment, vehicle, or character and bring it to life: Starship battles, a favorite hero or villains’ home, an alien world, or a favorite scene. The galaxy is open, make it fun and make it you!

GALACTIC CREW (13-17)

Go beyond the obvious and tell a story. Show us a tense standoff, hidden base, busy spaceport or planet surface that will instantly transport us. Get creative with atmosphere, details, and anything that makes the scene feel alive.

COSMIC ARCHITECTS (18+)

True masters use interesting and sophisticated techniques to flex scale: you can make your build micro or macro, or an interested forced perspective. Be resourceful and make every brick, plate, and accessory count. Give us a full story with detail and technical excellence.

AWARDS

  • $25 will be awarded to the fan favorite for each faction ($75 total)
  • $25 will be awarded by the Bricks & Minifigs staff pick for each age group using the build criteria as our guide

COMMUNITY MOC BUILD CONTEST GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Bricks & Minifigs Mission MOC Contest Terms & Conditions

  1. Eligibility
    • Contest is open to LEGO® builders of all ages.
    • Entries must be original creations (MOCs – My Own Creations) built primarily from LEGO elements.
    • Employees of Bricks & Minifigs Mission may participate but are not eligible for prizes.
  2. Entry Limits
    • Each builder may submit one (1) entry as an individual.
    • Builders may submit a second entry only if participating as part of a group build (solo + group).
    • Group entries must register in the age category of the oldest builder on the team.
  3. Prize Categories
    • Junior Builders: ages 12 and under
    • Teen Builders: ages 13–17
    • Master Builders: ages 18+
    • People’s Choice: open category, any age, chosen by public vote
    • Note: Depending on number of submissions for each age category, Bricks & Minifigs Mission reserves the right to adjust age ranges on categories to balance submissions and prize eligibilty.
  4. Theme & Submission Dates
    • Submissions must match the announced theme.
    • Entries must be delivered to during the posted deliery window to be eligible for prizes.
    • All entries will be displayed in-store during the designated day.
    • All entries must have an online or paper registration to verify eligibility and ownership.
  5. Prizes
    • One winner in each age category will receive $25 in Bricks & Minifigs Mission store credit.
    • Winners may be invited to have their builds displayed in the front-of-store display cases.
  6. Judging & Viewers’ Choice
    • Category winners are selected by Bricks & Minifigs Mission staff based on creativity, build quality, and adherence to the theme.
    • Viewers’ Choice / public selection winner will be determined by in-store customer voting during the display period. To keep things fair for public voting, we ask that each family vote only once for the People’s Choice award.
    • Vote rigging by entries will automatically disqualify entries from any prizes.
  7. General Rules
    • All entries must be family-friendly.
    • Creations must remain on display until the conclusion of the contest unless otherwise approved.
    • By entering, participants grant Bricks & Minifigs Mission permission to photograph and share their builds for promotional purposes.
