THE CHALLENGE

Christmas in July is all about finding a little holiday magic in the middle of summer! Use your imaginantion to build a holiday scene whether that’s a classic snowy winter wonderland, Santa trading his sleigh for a surfboard, elves at Worlds of Fun, reindeer cooling off at the pool, or anything in between. Traditional or tropical, cozy or chaotic however you celebrate Brick-mas in July, make it yours!

AGE CATEGORIES & BUILD CRITERIA

BRICK STARTERS (6 & under)

Pick your favorite holiday moment and bring it to life in bricks! Make it colorful, make it fun, and make us smile!

BRICK BUILDERS (7-12)

Build a holiday scene that tells a story. Think about what’s happening in your scene and what makes it feel festive and fun. Transport us somewhere magical!

BRICK MASTERS (13+)

Push your techniques and bring creative ambition to every brick. Whether you go traditional or totally tropical — make every stud count and give us a scene with depth, character, and intention.

AWARDS

  • $25 staff pick for Brick Starters (6 & under)
  • $25 staff pick for Brick Builders (7-12)
  • $25 staff pick for Brick Masters (13+)
  • $25 Viewers’ Choice — voted by visitors on showcase day

Awards and prizes are subject to change as outlined in our Community MOC Build Contest Terms and Conditions.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Size: Builds must be fully contained within a 32 x 32 baseplate (10 inches x 10 inches) and should not exceed 10 inches height.
  • Strength: Your build must be strong enough that it can be moved or bumped without falling apart.
  • Each entry must be registered with the following information:
    • Your Name
    • Your Age
    • A title for your entry
    • A brief description (2 to 3 sentences) of your scene or build, especially if there are any hidden details, easter eggs, or play features the viewer and judgers should know about. Play features will only be handled by the creator or staff, and viewers will not be allowed to touch entries.

BUILD FOR YOUR AUDIENCE

Your creation will be displayed on a table where the audience will not be able to see all sides so make sure you keep that in mind while building your scene. Keep your build discoverable and accessible!

COMMUNITY MOC BUILD CONTEST GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Bricks & Minifigs Mission MOC Contest Terms & Conditions

  1. Eligibility
    • Contest is open to LEGO® builders of all ages.
    • Entries must be original creations (MOCs – My Own Creations) built primarily from LEGO elements.
    • Employees of Bricks & Minifigs Mission may participate but are not eligible for prizes.
  2. Entry Limits
    • Each builder may submit one (1) entry as an individual.
    • Builders may submit a second entry only if participating as part of a group build (solo + group).
    • Group entries must register in the age category of the oldest builder on the team.
  3. Prize Categories
    • Junior Builders: ages 12 and under
    • Teen Builders: ages 13–17
    • Master Builders: ages 18+
    • People’s Choice: open category, any age, chosen by public vote
    • Note: Depending on number of submissions for each age category, Bricks & Minifigs Mission reserves the right to adjust age ranges on categories to balance submissions and prize eligibility.
  4. Theme & Submission Dates
    • Submissions must match the announced theme.
    • Entries must be delivered to during the posted delivery window to be eligible for prizes.
    • All entries will be displayed in-store during the designated day.
    • All entries must have an online or paper registration to verify eligibility and ownership.
  5. Prizes
    • One winner in each age category will receive $25 in Bricks & Minifigs Mission store credit.
    • Winners may be invited to have their builds displayed in the front-of-store display cases.
  6. Judging & Viewers’ Choice
    • Category winners are selected by Bricks & Minifigs Mission staff based on creativity, build quality, and adherence to the theme.
    • Viewers’ Choice / public selection winner will be determined by in-store customer voting during the display period. To keep things fair for public voting, we ask that each family vote only once for the People’s Choice award.
    • Vote rigging by entries will automatically disqualify entries from any prizes.
  7. General Rules
    • All entries must be family-friendly.
    • Creations must remain on display until the conclusion of the contest unless otherwise approved.
    • By entering, participants grant Bricks & Minifigs Mission permission to photograph and share their builds for promotional purposes.
