Company History:

Robotics Clubs USA, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Texnology Possibilities Corp. Both organizations were founded in 2016.

Introduction:

Robotics Clubs USA offers educational products and competition clubs for youth ages 8 and above. We have an established curriculum to teach young girls and boys concepts and processes in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by assembling and programming robotics kits, custom robotics units, drones, model rockets and other devices and models. After students complete a uniquely crafted curriculum for their particular age group, they will be able to compete in robotics competition clubs held around the San Antonio area, the state of Texas and beyond.

The primary focus for Robotics Clubs USA is to develop our youth (especially young women) in the fields of science and technology by making it fun and accessible. As our mission statement attests, we are developing today’s youth into tomorrow’s engineers and entrepreneurs.

Robotics Clubs USA is actively engaged in a movement to help develop students to deepen their understanding of mathematics and science.  STEM is much more than a subset of core subject areas; it is a blended understanding of how science and technology meets engineering and math. It’s also the exploration of how things work and a means to begin equip students so that they can  leverage their breadth of diverse understanding of new concepts to create new ideas. Our STEM programs help students develop a set of critical skills that can be used in all areas of their lives: thinking, reasoning, teamwork, investigation, and problem solving.

STEM isn’t a standalone class—it’s a way to intentionally incorporate different subjects across an existing curriculum to deepen students understanding. For example, robotics combines programming, mechanical and electrical engineering, mathematics, science, and basic problem solving.

Science: The study of the natural world.
Technology: One surprise—the STEM definition for technology includes any product made by humans to meet a want or need. (So much for all technology being digital.) A chair is technology; so is a pencil. Any product kids create to solve a problem can be regarded as technology.
Engineering: The design process kids use to solve problems.
Math: The language of numbers, shapes, and quantities that seems so irrelevant to many students.

At Robotics Clubs USA we use the six characteristics of a great STEM Curriculum for hands-on and inquiry-based learning;

  1. Lessons focused on real-world issues and problems
  2. Our curriculum is guided by the engineering design process
  3. Our Student are immersed in hands-on and inquiry-based exploration
  4. The environment is focused on Cooperative, gracious, and productive teamwork in a safe setting
  5. Consistently using math and science content with our students
  6. Expect our students to explore ideas that can have multiple solutions and that failure is a necessary part of learning

Our students are engaged in solving problems and learn while conducting hands-on missions with a number of educational resources:  Lego® Education resources and EV3 MindStorm® system (JJ the Robot®,  Kapla® Blocks, Power Construction® models, and many other resources.
