Design your car for form and function, as there are prizes for both fastest car and \u201cbest in show\u201d as voted by your peers. And all participants will receive a free LEGO minifigure from the Minifig Maker table!<\/p>\n<h4>How to play<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Stop by the store to purchase your official metal wheel and axle kit for $10 &#8211; yours to keep forever!<\/li>\n<li>Take the kit home and build your car using any combination of LEGO bricks (see specifications below)<\/li>\n<li>Return with your car &#8211; ready to race! &#8211; on Friday, January 18 at 5:30pm:\n<ul>\n<li>5:30pm check-in<\/li>\n<li>6:00pm best-in-show voting<\/li>\n<li>6:15pm racing starts!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Car specifications<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Maximum car dimensions are 9 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 4 inches high<\/li>\n<li>All parts of the car must fit behind the starting pin before the race<\/li>\n<li>Bricks &amp; Minifigs staff may inspect your car to ensure compliance. We want to make sure your car won\u2019t damage the track or other cars.<\/li>\n<li>Racers may not modify cars between races, but you can repair your car if it becomes damaged during the race<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Other important rules:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Each participant who races (adult or child) must have their own car<\/li>\n<li>Participants must have designed their own car<\/li>\n<li>Participants in the child category must be 5-13 years old<\/li>\n<li>Participants in the adult category must be 14+ years old<\/li>\n<li>Spectators are welcome to view but may not race or win<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Prizes!<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Adult 1st place: $40 bag of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>Adult 2nd place: $20 bag of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>Adult 3rd place: $8 tub of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>Child 1st place: $40 bag of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>Child 2nd place: $20 bag of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>Child 3rd place: $8 tub of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>Adult best in show: $20 bag of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>Child best in show: $20 bag of bulk LEGO bricks<\/li>\n<li>All participants will receive a card for a free LEGO minifigure from the Minifig Maker table!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Start your engines, and good luck!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With over $175 in prizes at stake, come see if your car has what it takes to get the gold medal!
