You don’t have to be Betsy Ross to create your own version of the Stars and Stripes! We’ve got our own small MOC (My Own Creation) build for everyone who wants to add a little brick-built patriotism to their life.

Stars, Stripes, and Bricks

What better way to celebrate 250 years of the United States of America (and coincidentally the 250th open Bricks & Minifigs® store) than with the symbol of America itself? As one of the most recognizable flags in the world, this iconic design is a great building project for you, your kids, or even a group looking for a fun, festive Independence Day activity.

A Red, White, and Blue Build

Our MOC version of the American flag captures the spirit of the flag in mini form. With 13 stripes and five stars, this simple build is a great build for the 4th of July, a summer BBQ, or any other uniquely American occasion.

Made of 27 easy to find pieces, this build features the right amount of stripes and one star for every ten states. If you don’t have the exact elements, don’t worry—you can easily substitute parts! A 1×8 plate can become two 1×4 plates, and the white stars can be swapped for white dots or even small flowers.

You can download the free instructions below, then grab the parts to bring your own piece of Americana to life!

American Flag Fun Fact

The 50 star design was actually created by a high school student. Bob Heft created the design as part of a school project, and it was later chosen as the official flag design by President Eisenhower.
